Clear cell hydradenoma masquerading as umbilical polyp

A one-year-male child presented with red polypoidal umbilical mass of 2 cm diameter since birth. Excision of the mass was done under general anaesthesia. The tumour under microscope revealed the presence of large clear round cells and intervening at places were slit like spaces lined by cuboidal epithelium. The diagnosis of clear cell hidradenoma was made.

The association of cutaneous tuberculosis with leprosy has been reported rarely. Though both the diseases are caused by mycobacteriae, no true antagonism exists. This case report confirms the above view.

Three sisters aged 10, 13 and 14, presented with absence of scalp and facial hair. The youngest sister had scalp hair at birth, but had hair fall later, while the other two did not have hair at birth. Three other siblings had normal long hair, and there was no family history of any similar condition. Examination showed complete absence of scalp, axillary and pubic hair in all the three sisters.
