One hundred and one (9.02%) of 1119 students in 13 primary schools were found to have scabies. It was more in girls and in children below the age of 8 years. Poverty, poor hygiene, habits of sharing clothes and intimate personal contact play a major role in the spread and persistence of scabies. Treatment and health education with the help of the teachers worked out well. Lack of proper treatment may lead to an epidemic of scabies.

This study was undertaken in a series of 70 infants (48 males, 22 females) and children aged 1 month to 5 years: with eczematous dermatitis (scabetic 36, pediculous 7, microbic 9, seborrhoeic 10, atopic 6 and due to irritant applications 2) as the primary disease for which medical advice was sought.. Nutritional failure was detected anthropothetrically in 58 (83%) of them, including 16(23%) with acute malnutrition and 42(60%) with chronic malnutrition. They were variably wasted. A few had stomatoglossitis and 4 had pitting oedema (Kwashiorkor). Biochemically, the serum proteins, particularly albumin was significantly low in eczematous children. Under poor dietary and socio- ecomomic conditions, it is difficult to ascribe the malnutrition to eczematous dermatitis alone but the occurrence of malnutrition in 12 out of 13 from higher economic status with better dietary and environmental background suggests the role of eczematous dermatitis in malnutrition. Associated pyogenic infections seemed to be the most important factor producing malnutrition in this study.

Biopsy specimens from 102 patients with mycetoma were examined histologically; Streptomyces somaliensis was found in 5 cases. The clinical features, radiology and histology of actinomycotic mycetoma due to S. somaliensis ar ' e described. The geographic distribution of the organism, its incidence and prevalence in India and the importance of histological examination in the diagnosis of the infection are discussed.

A case of papulo-necrotic tuberculids affecting only glans penis is described. A positive Mantoux test, characteristic histology and response to anti tuberculous drugs confirmed the diagnosis.

A rare skin disorder-Confluent and Reticulate P apillomatosis is described in a 26 years old male. There was no evidence for the presence of ptyrosporum orbiculate in the skin lesions. Twelve percent urea cream was found to be very effective.

Three cases of Kyrle's disease are reported. AR the three cases showed lesions with typical morphology and histology. In one instance the disease was present in the earlier generation. An interesting feature is the observation of a Koebner- like phenomenon.

A case of erythema elevatum diutinum (EED) in a 60 years old male is presented. This patient has been followed up for seven (197380) years so that the evolution of the disease could be seen and some of the treatment modalities suggested by earlier workers tried out.
