Kerion, Tinea Faciei and Tinea Corporis in an Infant

Umbilicated Papules As a Manifestation of Tuberculid

A 10 year old girl developed recurrent non-itchy, skin coloured umbilicated papules along with scrofuloderma in the left inguinal region, and constitutional disturbances. A quick response to antitubercular treatment a highly positive Mantoux test and the histopatholpgical findinits suggest that the papular lesion were an atvvical tuberculid.

Black Piedra of the Pijbic Hairs a Sexuallay Transmitted Disease

An outbreak of black piedra affected 60% of the inmates of a women'& hostel. One of the ismateswhohadpiedraevenbeforejoinmgthe hostel appears to be the source of in fewon. Use of a common comb for the hair and sharing of pillows and bed sheets while sleeping were the probable factors for spread of the disease. An indigmous treatment that consisted of daily; exposure of the: affected hairs to steam fot- 20 minutes were found to be beneficial.
