Three cases of chromomycosis proved histopathologically are reported. In one case Phialophora pedrosoi was grown in culture which was confirmed by the Mycological Reference Laboratory, London. The saprobic form could also be seen in tissues. The significance of this finding is discussed. Hamycin was founduseful in controlling itching.

Two hundred and eithteen cases of fungal skin infections were studied. Tinea cruris was most common (34.4%), followed by tinea corporis (23.8%) znd tinea pedis (21.6%). Tinea versicolor (8.7%) tinea manum (4.6%) tinea ungaium (3.7%) and tinea capitis (3.2%) were also seen. The male: female ratio was 4:1. The total isolates were 117. Trichophyton rubrum was the most common isolate (35%). closely followed by Epidermophyton floccosum (31.6%). Trichphyton mentagrophytes (17.9%), Malassezia furfur (13.7%) and Microsporum audouini (1.7%) were the only other isolates.

ABO and Rh blood groups among 54 syphilitics were determined. A significantly increased incidence of syphilis in persons blood groups B and AB was observed; significant decrease in those having groups A and 0. A significant decrease in, the incidence of syphilis was also observed in Rh negative 'subjects. These results suggest a possible relationship between the inheritance of blood groups and the natural defence mechanism against syphilis.

Tissue smears showed C. granulomatis in 72.8% of the 151 cases studied. In 15 of the remaining 39 cases, clumps of extracellular bacilli were present, out of which intracellular location could be demonstrated in tissue sections in 5 cases. It is not clear whether the organism in the remaining 10 cases were C. granulomatis or secondary contaminants. Intracellular organisms could b e demonstrated in the histipathologic section in 47.6% of the cases. Tissue biopsy was negative for the organisms in 25 tissue smear positive cases. Morphology of C. granulomatis in the smears as well as the sections is described.

This experiment was carried out with the help of spectrophotometer using an artificial UV light source to find -out the percentage transmission of UVA and UVB regions of the UV spectrum. The aim of the experiment was to select the transparent medium which would block mum UVB at the same time allowing mammum UVA to pass through thus reducing the unwanted side effects of UVB light and reducing the efficacy of PUVASOL. It was observed that an ordinary plain 3.3 mm colorless glass was the best transparent medium and with its use a simple solarium could be constructed to treat patients on PUVASOL with sunlight as the source of UV light.

A quantitative assay of porphyrins in blood'of thirty patients with atopic dermatitis was done. Rimington's technique for the estimation of porphyrins was employed. Porphyrin levels in thirty cases of atopic dermatitis were compared with levels in ten controls. No satistically significant difference in porphyrin levels was observed be the study and control groups. Porphyrin were also compared between patients with and without history of photosensitivity. The, erythrocyte coproporphyrin in patients with photosensitivity was significantly higher than in patient without Photosensitivity.

A delayed, Tuberculin type response to intradermal (ID) test with benzathine penicillin is described in a 50 year old female. She did not develop any sign of drug reaction on receiving.intramuscular injection of that drug. None of the 65 patients who were studied in detail for the ID test response to various penicillins showed such a delayed response.
