A patienho intially developed Stevens-Johnson syndrome and then toxic epidermal necrolysis is reported. The provocation with isonicotinic acid hydrazide was positive.

A 16 day old premature infant, born in the hospital developed tinea corporis due to Trichophyton rubrum. Her mother had tinea cruris due to the same species of fungus.

Langerhans cells (LC) were defined by indirect immunofluore-scence using OKT6 monoclonal antibody in the early lesions of 10 untreated vitiligo patients. The distribution and the numbers of OKT6 + epidermal LC in the lesions was similar to that observed in the normal skin. In the dermal infiltrates of some of the lesion, T6 '+ cells were visualized.

Fifty patients having psoriasis were studied with a view to assess and comparc the efficacy of PUVASOL (oral psoralin with ultraviolet/sun-ray exposure) therapy with that of the, combined regime of PUVASOL and a topical. cream containing, urea coal- trar, dithranol salicylic acid and Th. two forms of therapy were m-25 patients each, and observations were made over a period of 90 days. PUVASOL combined with topical medicat on was found to be more effective, than PUVASOL alone. The side effects were also more' marked in the combined therapy group, but were manageable by regulating the doses.

Semen examination with special reference to semen analysis and culture for Ureaplasma urealyticum was carried out in 50 male infertile patients in the age group of 25 to 40 years, attending a private infertility clinic. Isolation of Ureaplasma urealyticum in 14 (28%) patients and the abnormalities in count and motility of spermatozoa suggest that ureaplasmas may play a role in human male infertility.

In a survey of 3697 children from 4 urban schools, 529 (14.3%) were found to be having skin diseases. Of these, 286 (53.6%) had communicable dermatomes and nutritional deficiencies. This highlights the importance of imparting proper health education and introduction of mid-day meals to schoolchildren.

Indigenous patch test unit made front aluminum discs obtained' from the tops of discarded injection vials and adhesive plaster was found suitable after testing:8430 chambers in 471 patients. This patch test unit is cheap and can be easily prepared in a side laboratory. The discs can be resued after washing and drying and disc material has no cross-reactivity with nickel. The large number of -antigens (up to 40) can be tested on the upper back in one sitting The tight occlusion prevents the spread of the reaction beyond the patch test site. Micio-cuts 1-2 in number without subjective discomfort, were produced in iipt6 5% of the chambers and these healed without medication in' 2-3 days. There was no, spill-over of petrolatum based antigens, However, with, aqueous antigens the spill over occurred in up to 2% chambers. The above limitations can be minimized by close scrutiny of the chambers for sharp edges before use and by applying measured quantity of the aqueous antigen.

A seven year old male child had epidermal nevus syndrome manifesting as delayed mile stones, micro-cephaly, short stature, central nervous system abnormalities like ocular palsies with nystagmus, cutaneous manifestation of nevus unius lateris and a bone cyst at the lower end of right femur.

Scleromyxedema was observed in a 43 year old male.patient. The lesions were shiny, waxy-looking, soft,, papules, 2 to 4 mm in diameter and were most marked on the neck and ear lobules. There was no evidence of paraproteinemia.

An anaemic adult female developed granuloma multiforme characterised by, hypopigmented papules and annular plaques on her trunk and limbs. Histopathology revealed necrobiosis of collagen and palisading by histiocytes.

Infection with Dracunculus medinensis of the vulva is rare. It was clinically misdiagnosed as a neoplastic growth. It was characterised by an oval, firm, mobile swelling in the middle of the left labia majora. The cut surface showed white-coloured, thread-like, coiled- up adult parasite embedded in the central portion of the growth. Histopathology showed transverse and obliquely cut sections of the adult parasite surrounded by a danse fibrocollagenous stroma, infiltrated by lymphocytes, plasma cells and a few eosinophils.

A 30-year-old male developed disseminate xanthoma with symblepharon arthalgia and narrowing of thejoin space of hip joints. Serum lipid studies were normal, but the histopathology was diagnostic of xanthoma.
